How to Measure Your Bracelet Size

Finding the right bracelet size only takes a minute and helps ensure a comfortable fit you'll enjoy wearing every day.

What You'll Need

  • A soft measuring tape (preferred), or
  • A piece of string and a ruler

Step 1: Measure Your Wrist

Wrap the measuring tape around your wrist just above your wrist bone, where you would naturally wear a bracelet. It should sit comfortably against your skin without pulling tightly or hanging loose.

Tip: Turn your palm upward while measuring—it often makes it easier to get an accurate measurement.

If you're using string, wrap it around your wrist, mark where the ends meet, then lay it flat against a ruler to find your measurement.

Step 2: Record Your Wrist Measurement

The number you get is your wrist size—not your bracelet size.

Step 3: Choose Your Preferred Fit

To determine your bracelet size, add a little extra room to your wrist measurement.

  • Snug fit: Add ½ inch (1.3 cm)
  • Comfortable everyday fit: Add ¾ inch (2 cm)
  • Relaxed fit: Add 1 inch (2.5 cm)

For example, if your wrist measures 6 inches, a bracelet between 6½ and 7 inches will fit comfortably, depending on how you like to wear it.

Things to Consider

Your personal style
Some people prefer bracelets that stay in place, while others like a little movement. Choose the fit that feels most comfortable for you.

Bracelet style
Rigid bangles and cuffs fit differently than chain bracelets. If you're purchasing a bangle or cuff, refer to that product's sizing guide, as the fit may vary.

Adding charms
If you plan to wear multiple charms, they will take up space on the bracelet. You may prefer to size up slightly for a more comfortable fit.

Measure at a normal temperature
Wrists naturally expand in warm weather and can be slightly smaller when they're cold. Measuring at room temperature usually gives the most accurate result.

Between sizes?
If you're deciding between two sizes, sizing up is generally the more comfortable option, especially if you prefer a bracelet with a bit of movement.
