Permanent Jewelry

What is permanent jewelry?

Permanent jewelry is custom-fit jewelry that is welded closed rather than finished with a clasp. The chain is fitted to your wrist, ankle or neck and welded directly on, creating a seamless piece designed to be worn every day. Our permanent jewelry is available in sterling silver and solid gold.

Can I have a clasp instead?

Absolutely. Every chain we offer can also be finished with a clasp if you prefer a removable piece.

Can I add a charm?

Yes. We offer a curated collection of charms including initials, gemstones, diamonds, zodiac symbols and seasonal designs.

How do I book a repair or re-weld?

Simply book a Repair & Re-Weld Appointment through our online booking system. A booking fee is required to reserve your appointment and will be refunded when you attend. Repairs on jewelry purchased from SB Studio are complimentary where possible. A service fee may apply for jewelry not originally purchased from SB Studio.

What if my piece breaks?

If possible, save the chain and book a repair appointment. In many cases we can re-weld the original piece.

What if I need to remove my permanent jewelry?

For medical procedures, MRIs or other situations requiring removal, simply cut the small connecting jump ring and save your chain. We can often re-weld it at a later date.

Engraving & Personalization

What can be engraved?

Depending on the piece, we can engrave initials, dates, names, meaningful messages, handwriting, fingerprints, children’s artwork and custom designs.

Can I provide my own artwork or handwriting?

In many cases, yes. We are happy to review your artwork, signature, handwriting sample or fingerprint and discuss available options.

Do you offer personalized gifts?

Absolutely. Engraved jewelry makes a meaningful gift for birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, weddings, new babies and other special occasions.

Engagement Rings & Bespoke Design

Do you offer engagement rings?

Weddings, anniversaries, milestones and meaningful moments have always been central to SB Studio. We create engagement rings, wedding bands and bespoke fine jewelry designed around the individual wearing them. Whether you arrive with a clear vision or simply a starting point, we’ll guide you through the process and create something that feels personal, lasting and entirely your own.

What types of diamonds do you offer?

We work with both lab-grown and natural diamonds, carefully selected for their beauty, quality and character. Alongside classic diamond cuts, we also offer vintage-inspired stones, including Old Mine and Old European-style cuts, for those drawn to a softer, more romantic aesthetic.

What metals do you offer?

Our engagement rings and bespoke jewelry are available in 9k, 10k, 14k and 18k gold in yellow, white and rose gold.

How does the design process work?

Every project begins with a conversation.During your consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a curated collection of ring styles, stone shapes, settings and design details. Seeing and comparing options in person often makes the process feel more intuitive and less overwhelming than browsing endless online galleries. Once your design is finalized, detailed renderings are prepared for your approval before your piece is crafted by our skilled goldsmiths.

What if I have an idea for something completely custom?

Some of our favourite projects begin with a photograph, a sketch, a family heirloom or simply an idea. If you’re looking for something outside the traditional engagement ring box, we’d love to hear about it. From modern heirlooms to one-of-a-kind commissions, we welcome projects that are deeply personal and entirely unique.

Will my diamond come with documentation?

Many centre diamonds are accompanied by independent grading reports from internationally recognized gemological laboratories. Available documentation will be reviewed with you as part of the design process and provided where applicable.

What if I don’t know my ring size?

We can assist with sizing during your consultation and discuss options if the ring is intended to be a surprise. While we make every effort to determine the correct size before production begins, resizing requirements can occasionally occur.

Certain ring styles, including eternity bands and some custom designs, may have limited resizing options.

How long does a custom ring take?

Most engagement rings and bespoke projects are completed within approximately two to four weeks following final design approval, although timelines may vary depending on design complexity and stone selection.

Do you offer wedding bands?

We do. From classic gold bands to diamond-set designs, we create wedding bands intended to complement your engagement ring beautifully and be worn comfortably for decades to come.

Do you work with clients outside of Canada?

Yes. We work with clients across Canada and internationally through phone, email and virtual consultations and ship worldwide.

Events & Corporate Gifting

Do you offer private events?

Yes. We regularly host private appointments, bridal showers, client appreciation events,

fundraisers, influencer events and corporate activations.

Do you travel?

Yes. We frequently travel throughout Alberta for private and corporate events and are happy to discuss opportunities further afield.

Do you offer corporate gifting?

We do. From engraved charms and personalized jewelry to employee recognition gifts, milestone celebrations and custom projects, we work with organizations to create gifts that feel thoughtful and memorable.

Can gifts be personalized?

Absolutely. Many clients choose engraving, custom charms, meaningful gemstones or personalized messaging to create a truly unique gift.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes. Gift cards are available in any denomination and may be used toward permanent jewelry, fine jewelry, engraving and most studio services.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship throughout Canada and internationally.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Timelines vary depending on the piece. Ready-to-wear items are generally shipped quickly, while custom projects, engraved pieces and engagement rings require additional production time. Estimated timelines will be discussed at the time of purchase.

Will I be charged duties or taxes?

International orders may be subject to duties, taxes or import fees determined by the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the purchaser.

Returns, Repairs & Warranty

Do you offer returns or exchanges?

Custom, personalized and bespoke pieces, including engagement rings and wedding bands, are generally final sale. Please review our Refund & Exchange Policy for complete details.

Do you offer a warranty?

We stand behind the quality of our work and take great pride in every piece we create. Our warranty covers manufacturing defects and workmanship issues on jewelry created by SB Studio. It does not cover normal wear, accidental damage, loss, theft, chemical exposure, misuse or work performed by another jeweler. Fine jewelry is designed to be worn and enjoyed, but it is not indestructible. Over time, everyday wear can cause settings to loosen, claws to wear and gemstones to become vulnerable to loss if regular maintenance is not performed. We recommend that engagement rings and frequently worn fine jewelry be professionally inspected annually to help identify wear before it becomes a larger issue.

Do you repair jewelry?

Yes. We offer repairs on many types of jewelry and are happy to assess your piece to determine available options.

What if my piece doesn’t look exactly like the photo?

Many of our pieces are handcrafted, made to order or feature natural materials such as gemstones, pearls and diamonds. Natural materials vary in colour, pattern, inclusions and appearance, and no two stones are exactly alike. Slight variations are part of what makes each piece unique. We make every effort to accurately represent our jewelry through photography and product descriptions; however, differences in screen settings, lighting and natural materials may result in slight variations from what is shown online. These variations are not considered defects and contribute to the individuality of each piece.

Is there a booking fee?

Yes. A booking fee is required to reserve your appointment and is applied toward your purchase.

How many people can attend one appointment?

Our standard appointments accommodate up to four guests. For larger groups, bridal parties and private events, please contact us directly.
