Perhaps you know exactly what you want. Perhaps you only know that you have not found it yet. Either is a good place to start.
At SB Studio, custom jewellery begins with a conversation about what you would like to wear, what it means to you and what you feel comfortable spending. Our family-owned Edmonton studio helps you explore the possibilities, whether that means a personal detail on an existing piece or a design developed around your ideas.
Looking for a starting point? Explore custom and personalized bracelets, then choose a design to personalize or build your own charm combination.
Does custom jewellery have to be expensive?
No. “Custom” describes how a piece is chosen or created; it does not name a price bracket. An engraved charm, a bracelet assembled with your favourite details and a bespoke diamond ring are very different projects, with very different costs.
A fully bespoke design involves more work than personalizing an existing piece, so it may cost more. But you do not need a large, elaborate project to make jewellery feel personal. The useful starting point is your budget and the details you care about most.
We work with you to understand what you want and discuss what is possible within that budget. Some ideas may need adjustments to the materials, scale or design. Those choices are part of the conversation, rather than something you need to figure out on your own.
Three ways to make a piece your own
1. Add a personal engraving
A name, date, fingerprint or familiar line of handwriting can give an existing piece a very different meaning. Our engraving collection includes necklaces, bracelets, pendants, charms and lockets, with metal options depending on the piece. It is a useful starting point when the message is the most important part.
2. Choose your own combination
With a custom charm bracelet, you choose the chain and meaningful details. Start with one charm or bring several together. Initials, symbols and birthstones offer different ways to make a piece feel like you, and the total changes with your selections.

3. Develop a bespoke design
If the piece you have in mind does not already exist in our collection, tell us about it. For a custom ring or another bespoke project, we can discuss the shape, metal, stones and proportions, then explore a direction that suits both your taste and the practical requirements of the piece.
You are welcome to bring inspiration photographs. Tell us what draws you to them: the softness of a shape, a stone colour, a setting or the way a piece sits on the hand. Those details help us understand your taste and develop something personal.
What affects the cost of custom jewellery?
- Metal and weight: the material and how much of it the design requires.
- Stones: the type, size, quality and number of stones.
- Design complexity: intricate construction, setting and finishing can require additional work.
- The starting point: engraving an existing piece, combining available elements and making a new design involve different processes.
For example, if your priority is a meaningful everyday bracelet, one carefully chosen charm may do everything you want. If your priority is a particular ring silhouette, we can discuss which stone and metal choices support that design. A budget gives us something useful to design around.
You do not need the right jewellery vocabulary.
“I like this shape, but I want it smaller.” “I want something I can wear every day.” “This is the amount I am comfortable spending.” These are all helpful ways to begin.
How to start your custom jewellery project
- Share the idea. Tell us the type of piece, who it is for and any details you already love.
- Share your budget and date. Include whether you need a chain or other elements in the total, and whether the piece is for a particular occasion.
- Explore the options together. We can discuss materials, proportions and the best approach for your project. Ask about the full cost and proposed timeline before committing.
- Confirm the details. Make sure the design, sizing and timing are understood before production begins.

Our studio is open by appointment only. You do not need to arrive with a finished sketch or a final decision. Bring your ideas and questions; we will help you work through them.
Made-to-order jewellery and bespoke projects generally require 2–6 weeks for production after final design approval, with delivery time additional. Timing depends on the project, so start early if you have a date in mind. Custom and special-order pieces are final sale; confirm the details before proceeding.
