Your wedding band’s width changes how it looks and feels on your hand. Compare the same width in both profiles: the Classic has a rounded outer surface, while the Contemporary has a flatter outer surface. Both offer a comfort-fit interior.

Compare the widths

Width What to consider
2–2.5 mm A slender look that leaves more room beside an engagement ring or another band.
3–3.5 mm A middle ground if you want a little more presence while keeping the band relatively narrow.
4–4.5 mm A more defined line across the finger. Compare it both alone and next to any ring you plan to wear with it.
5–6 mm A broad band with a stronger visual presence and more coverage across the finger.

Try width and size together

Finger shape, knuckle size and the rings you already wear can all affect your preference. A wider band may feel snugger than a narrow band in the same size. Try a sizer close to your chosen width before deciding, especially if you are choosing a broad band.

Classic or Contemporary?

The Classic traditional court band has a curved outer profile and is 1.8 mm thick. The Contemporary flat court band has a flatter outer profile and is 1.85 mm thick. Both are available in 10k, 14k and 18k gold in yellow, white or rose, and in platinum.

Our wedding bands are offered in quarter sizes from 4 to 12. Read the ring sizing guide, compare the wedding band collection, or contact our Edmonton studio for help choosing.
